I know Troop #1 in Santa Barbara, CA has been continuously registered since
1910...
For the purposes of information, and not to stir debate, our
troop received a letter from Leroy Jossell, Director,
Registration and Statistical Service at national, dated
9/30/94 which listed the following 15 troops as having been
Troop 1, Flushing, NY (Dad's Club of Troop 1, Inc.) (Us)
Troop 1, East Hartford, CT (First Congregational Church)
Troop 2, College Point, NY (St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran
Church)
Troop 2, Cambridge, MA (North Prospect United Church of
Christ)
Troop 4, Lewiston, PA (Presbyterian Church of Lewiston)
Troop 13, Montclair, NJ (Union Congregational Church)
Troop 26, New York, NY (Alumni Assn of Troop 26, Inc.)
Troop 59, Collingwood, NJ (American Legion Post 17)
Troop 1, Duncanville, TX (Holy Spirit Catholic Church)
Troop 1, Paducah, KY (Grace Episcopal Church)
Troop 1, Louisville, KY (Crescent Hill United Methodist
Church)
Troop 1, Brentwood, TN (Brentwood United Methodist Church)
Troop 3, Nashville, TN (East End United Methodist Church)
Troop 1, Indianapolis, IN (Tuxedo Park Baptist Church)
There are no troops from the Western Region listed.
I suggest that if you believe that your troop should appear
on this list you should contact the Registration Service at
national to compare your records with theirs. I know there
is at least one troop on this list that was NOT on a similar
list they provided us five years earlier in connection with
our 75th anniversary. Thus, they apparently will correct
their records if provided with the information.
I can also tell you that, unfortunately, at least one of the
15 troops listed above (Troop 2, College Point) is no longer
chartered.

Troop 1 also know as Paoli 1 was chartered in March 1911 but was meeting prior to its official charter -- the registration was done in NYC at the time even thought they were located in Paoli, PA
