Gay Molesters Have To Pay

A Los Altos scoutmaster has been arrested for allegedly
molesting Boy Scouts over a five-year period beginning in 1987,
police said.
Gregory Allen Wagner, 42, was taken into custody Thursday on
suspicion of lewd acts on a child under 14, continuous
molestation of a child and distributing harmful matter - in this
case, pornography - to a child.
Wagner has worked with Troop 31 of the Boy Scouts of America
since 1986, said Santa Clara County Sheriff Deputy Terrance
Helm. The troop meets at the United Presbyterian Church at 858
University Ave. in Los Altos.
Wagner is in Santa Clara County jail and will be arraigned early
next week, at which time bail will be set, Helm said.
Helm said Wagner was arrested at his home after one of the
alleged victims, now an adult, came forward and told police that
he and other boys had been molested.
"He was coming forward now because he's just dealing with it at
this point in his life," Helm said. "He wanted something done
about it."
According to Helm, Wagner had "inappropriate contact with
numerous scouts, most of which were on a scouting trip."
The boys ranged in age from 12 to 17. The man who initially
approached police was 12 when the alleged molestation started in
1987, Helm said.
Troop 31 is overseen by the Pacific Skyline Council of the Boy
Scouts of America. John Richers, CEO of the council, said he was
"devastated" by the news, which came in the wake of another
troubling incident. On Aug. 5, Palo Alto police arrested Antonio
Scott Graham, 28, on suspicion of having sex with a minor.
Graham had coordinated the Palo Alto Fire Department's Explorer
program, which is run by the Boy Scouts of America. The charges
against him all involved one girl.
"Even one instance of this is too many," Richers said, adding
that he had expelled Wagner from the organization on Thursday.
That means he will never again be able to hold a leadership
position with the Boy Scouts anywhere in the country, he said.
The Pacific Skyline Council oversees about 300 troops in San
Mateo and Santa Clara counties and about 3,000 leaders, Richers
said.
Police suspect there are more victims and ask that anyone with
information call Det. Deborah Johnson at (408) 808-4530.
